Born in Liverpool, England, Carl Finlow has been making music with computers and experimenting with various gear and technologies since 1986, inspired by vintage electronic artists like Japanese Isao Tomita. He started putting out his first records in the early 1990s and soon became involved with prestigious labels around the world such as Warp, Soma, Klang, SCSI-AV, Novamute, Satamile, Electrix, as well as founding and chief-producing UK's 20/20 Vision label.
With a passion for science-fiction corroborated by a truly unique and personal musical style and a career crossing over three decades, Finlow has produced an enormous catalogue of music under a hefty list of aliases including his own name, Random Factor, Silicon Scally, Voice Stealer or Carbon Academy, spanning electro, house, techno and all points in between.
