Crossing bridges into UK territory, Mianda's February residency introduces two new international guests: Ethan McNamara and Alix.
Both are playing Bucharest for the first time & are coming with serious credentials as selectors, having contributed heavily to the growth of the digger scenes they've been involved with in Leeds, Manchester, London and beyond.

Ethan McNamara’s approach to playing records sits somewhere between futuristic drama and introspective after party groove. When he’s behind the decks, you’re just as likely to find yourself getting lost in electrifying 00’s electro and techno as you are to hear an impossible to find edit of an 80’s synth or progressive trance record.
When Ethan joined Mugpie in 2015, he increased the focus on cutting edge sounds as the brand grew into one of the preeminent nights for all things deep in the north of England. Ethan’s crates sit up there with the best of them, with a collection as singular as it is varied, thanks to his nearly encyclopedic knowledge of dance music in all of its intoxicating varieties.

Born on the outskirts of London to parents deeply involved in the OG UK rave movement, this early introduction broadened Alix’s musical horizons and sculpted his path towards a deep understanding for electronic music.
Aside from the rooted musical influences from his parents, Alix's roots are also in 80s new wave, indie, post punk & pop music. These influences are flickering all throughout the music he plays today.
Alix aims to discover genre-bending music that isn’t placed anywhere, but In a dance floor setting you can expect to hear a contrast of electro, techno and twisted progressive grooves, carried through an undertone of minimal techno. Floor functionality and rolling rhythms are always at the forefront of his sets.
